Baby Vaughn

Hi Ginger Lovers! Hopefully everyone is over that Patriot's loss from yesterday. What a frustrating game to watch! I saw a very cute onsie that says "I'm told I'm a Football Fan" that I am absolutely buying for Baby Foley. Less than 6 weeks left before the little one is supposed to join us! So exciting!

This blog isn't about me but all about the awesome people I get to photograph, but I want to share this picture from Saturday. My fabulous Mother and Sister gave us the best Shower. We got some great things from all our family and friends. Baby Foley is going to be one spoiled babe!!!

The nursery is much more organized now after all the fabulous things we got. But you can see how my belly has popped out so much! And you know I needed to rock a pair of heels! Can't lose that! I didn't take them off until the shower was over and I have to say, I wasn't in that much pain - which keeps me optimistic for after baby arrives.

Ok, now let's get down to Baby Vaughn.  We set up shop in her sunroom, with a heater close to keep baby nice and comfortable. He was only 6 days old when we did this! We moved him around and positioned him and he had no problem with it! I really did have a great time.

Vaughn's Mama went out and bought the hats that you see, and she had all the other props. Our mutual friend was also there and together the 3 of us used different blankets, positions and props. At the end, I like the least amount of props in a baby photo. All the other stuff take away from the baby!

Baby Dreams are the BEST!

I love how you can still see his belly button a little bit. It just reminds you how new he was!

"You guys almost done yet? I need to go back to being a new born. Thanks!"

Baby Feet!!

This one wasn't posed at all. Little Vaughn needed some Mommy Snuggle time and I just saw how adorable that little bum was. This is one of my favorites. So sweet!

Vaughn and his family are so cute. I hope they have me back to take some more shots of all of them one day!
Newborns are so much fun to photograph, because you can do whatever you want with them! Husband and I have good friends who are due in 8 days (Yikes!!!) and I can't wait to get my hands on Little Mackenzie too, once she arrives. And then eventually Baby Foley. Ours is going to thinks it's normal to have a camera in their face every day of their lives. Kinda like I did, right Billy?!

Next up is The Mara Family. Here's a sneak peek! Beautiful!

Have a great week everyone!

Little Miss Avery

Hey there peeps! I can not believe August is pretty much over and schools are back in session. What happened? I know we say this every year (and I don't even have kids, well, yet) but it's crazy! The cherubs I babysit for are starting next Wednesday. I bet mom can't wait!

Anyways....I sit (or lay) here, with a horrible cold and cough, that is even more horrible being pregnant, because you can't take anything while pregnant so I am quite miserable. That was a bad run on sentence, but I'm ok with breaking grammar rules to emphasize how annoying it is. Ha! Good thing I have Finn next to me to keep me company and make me feel better. He's the best Bully :-)

So let us talk a bit about Avery. She is too adorable. This would qualify as my first Newborn Photoshoot and I was so happy with the results. I went to High School with Avery's mom and we have reconnected over the last couple of years through a mutual friend.  I was so excited when she reached out for a Newborn Session with her first baby, Avery.

Hey there everyone! Aren't I simple perfectly adorable?

She was a month old to the day when the session took place.  After doing much research, I know that ideally a newborn shoot should happen within the first 10 days of a baby's life. BUT I think that because she was a little older, she gave us some of the best little faces, that you just wouldn't get with a baby that is THAT new. Like the little wink above. I almost melted when I saw that one. I was there for just under 2 hours and she only had to take 1, 20 minute break to eat. She is a trooper! I can not wait to do more sessions with babies (mine in particular!!).

This shoot was not only so much fun, it was a learning experience too. One of the basics of photography, is finding the best light. The day was really overcast/cloudy and there was no sunshine coming in at all. Which can also be a good thing, because you avoid glare. After a quick survey of the living room and nursery, I decided to set up shop right in front of the door. In some of the photos I was actually half inside (head, elbows and camera) and half outside (knees on the front step) to get the best light. But you would never know. You only need enough for the shot.

Enjoy the photos!

This is one of my top three favorites for the day. I love those eyes. Gorgeous!

That lip! Don't worry, Mommy cheered her right up!

This Bruins Burp Cloth was a gift and was sitting on an end table. Mom and Dad are huge bruins fans so I knew I had to use it. How adorable!

1 Month Old Today!

Just showing off those adorable baby toes!

This is just a sample of the great shots I got. I can only hope all of my future baby sessions will go as smoothly as this one!

Thanks for reading!

The Soon to be Little's

Hey there peeps! Almost 2 months ago a photographed an Engagement Session for Shawna and Bill.  Shawna contacted me a few months back inquiring about a shoot and I couldn't have been more excited! Shawna went to school with my sister so I've known her for years, although I haven't seen or spoken to her in probably 10 (or more!). She is adorable as I remember, and Bill? Pretty much everything you would want in a guy. And he's a Firefighter. Everyone knows I have a special place in my heart for those Jakes.

At first they requested the Charlestown Navy Yard for the shoot. I had never been there (and still haven't) so I was really excited to go before hand and scope out the scenery. But when she reached out and said they had decided on Castle Island, I was equally excited because I am so familiar with it.

The day that we met, in June, was 95*, humid and so windy. Perfect for a photoshoot! Not really. However, Shawna and Bill were such great sports. I think the three of us were on the verge of melting, literally, but no would know. The pictures came out great, if I do say so myself :-)

Enjoy!

Look at Bill looking at Shawna. You can tell how much he adores her. It was like this all day. It made my job easy.

This is one of my favorites with the green grass contrasting with her blue dress and his peach shirt. You can't even tell it was hot, or windy.

See, I told you he adores her!

This is another favorite. I didn't mention how crowed it was over there. It was a Sunday, and so warm so everyone flocked to the beach hoping for some relief. But we didn't have ONE issue with other people ruining a shot.  This is a prime example of that. I looks like we were the only ones there!

I hope you enjoyed these shots. I had a great time with Shawna and Bill. They made my job really easy! Good luck with the rest of your planning and I can't wait to see the pictures of your wedding!

My Favorite Place on Earth

Hey guys! I told you I wouldn't wait 4 months! We have some catching up to do! Now, it's no secret I am a New England Girl, through and through. I could NEVER live away from the ocean. I mean, I guess if I found a fabulous job that paid lots of moolah so I could fly to the coast whenever I wanted, I could do that, but that will probably not happen. Any time soon at least! Ha!

So every year my parents go to Nantucket in May. They have been going there for over 30 years.  I get my love for the coast from them. They have done the summer thing and are all set with the crowds so when the opportunity arrived to purchase a Time Share in May, they jumped on it. The Island is just barely ready to open for the summer season, but that is why it is so nice. You don't need a reservation for dinner. There are stools at the bar at the Brotherhood. You can walk into T-shirt stores and not push through crowds. It's quite lovely.

This year, because I am currently without employment, I stayed from Saturday - Wednesday which I haven't done in years. I missed the boys (Hubby and Finn) at home, but it was so nice. Plus I was still feeling icky from this baby growing inside me so it was really nice to relax.

USUALLY we schedule in some time to hit up the Cisco Bewery, but for obviously reasons, this year we did not. Something that we always do, is make sure we get time to drive around the Island to get some photos. We took a drive out to Madeket & Wauwinet, both of which I haven't been out to in many years. It was a beautiful day. As always we walk down to the Brant Point Lighthouse, and drive to Great Point. Perfect for taking pictures. Check out some of my favorite shots!

This was such a perfect Nantucket Day. Cloudless sky, a perfect 60* and a gorgeous sea breeze coming off the harbor.  Mom and I sat on those rocks for over an hour and just, well sat. Such a great morning.

Where we stay (just outside of town) there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Come to the other side of the island and you get this. Oh and it was about 40 degrees. And the ocean was about 33 degrees. Beautiful photo though!

Obviously I had to snap one of the pup. Not many things make me happier than a happy dog! Especially in the sand on the beach :-)

I don't know why I love this one so much. Maybe because there is a little mystery. Who owns this boat? What do they use it for? It was just sitting there all by it's lonesome. I love it. Buy this one HERE!

Thank you for checking out The Island. Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

Disney!

Hi all! So it's been about 4 months since I've last blogged. Some of that was lack of inspiration, some was because I was busy, but mainly it's because I have been a bit side tracked. We found out that we are expecting our first baby in November! Get Down Foley's! Hubby and I are beyond excited and can not wait to meet Baby Foley. I will be writing more about these 9 months in future posts, but for now, lets talk about a little Kid Fun, Disney World!

We planned a trip down to Disney with my parents in March. It had snowed 2 feet (yes FEET) the day before we left, so that was a little nerve wracking. We had no problem getting out of Logan Airport though.  Yey Logan! Not that I fly that much, but I have never had any issues at the Airport. Knock on wood. I probably just jinxed myself.

The last time I was down there was when I was a Sophomore in High School, so 5 years ago (haha yea right) but Hubby has never been! I was super excited to show it to him before we had kids because it is such a different experience. We stayed at a really nice place in Orlando, rented a car and just did our own thing. Here is a photo journey of our week!

This is so dorky, but I don't care. We were waiting for the tram to take up into Epcot on the first time. Matching Boat Shoes! You can take out of New England, but you can't take the New England out of me!

Yey! Epcot!

These two were hilarious. They were fighting over a piece of something, running back and forth and throwing it to each other.

The next bunch are from the Safari that we went on at the Animal Kingdom. I have never been on a real safari (can you say Bucket List?!), but this was really fun and we saw a bunch of animals.

I wanted so badly to get a better photo of him. But there were a bunch of kids, and I was not about to push them out of the way. He was trying to snooze, but if you notice, he was playing with his toes. Adorable.

Big Guy was putting on a show for us. It was amazing. He was roaring, pacing around, putting things on his head, among other things. We watched him for 10 minutes and he was being a complete show stopper!

Thunder Mountain! This ride was so much more fun than I remember! We waited in line for an hour, but it was so worth it. This was a MUST ride for us to take Hubby on. Splash Mountain was CLOSED! Total Bummer! We did all the other major rides (except for Thunder Mountain, I couldn't do that) so he got the total Disney Experience!

Who do you think won the staring contest?

I snapped this from the top of the Swiss Family Robinson's Tree House. The sun was perfect and I couldn't resist!

Main Street! We didn't wait around for the parade. I think we actually took to opportunity to go on some more rides while everyone with the kiddos was lining the streets. But this is as perfect as Disney gets!

Love them!

The next ones are randoms that I took with my phone.

Breakfast on the balcony every morning was the bomb diggity. Especially when they involved cream cheese :-)

This was a beer that I thoroughly enjoyed while having dinner in Germany. I think it was a 40 ounce beer or something like that. It took me 45 minutes to drink. Worth every calorie.

The obligatory pool/lounge/my-life-at-this-moment-is-better-than-yours photo

Billy and Hubby enjoying some liquid fun at the bar before dinner.

Sunrise one morning.

Billy's Birthday fell when we were down there so where else would we go, but an Irish Restaurant called The Pub. We had the best waiter, and the food was just as good. This was an egg, wrapped in sausage and fried. It was so good, it was silly. I wanted more of them.

Happy Birthday Dad!

This was from Lunch in Mexico. Again, other fabulous meal in Disney!

Thanks for reading. This is a big reason why I love these posts so much; it makes me remember how much FUN I have with family and friends.  I promise I won't wait 4 months before making another Post!!!
